Consumer prices increased in January by 0.2%, the biggest gain in four months. This was below economists estimates, who were expecting a 0.3% increase. In early trading the Dow is up 25 points, the Nasdaq is down 6 points and the S&P 500 is up 1 point.
Brightcove Inc. (NASDAQ:BCOV) is up 37.27% today at $15.10. BCOV has traded 2.6 million shares so far today. Brightcove shares opened 32% higher than its IPO price of $11 today. The company was valued at $382.8 million at its open price. One of Brightcove’s biggest shareholders includes Accel Partners which also holds an 11% stake in Facebook.
Cell Therapeutics, Inc. (NASDAQ:CTIC) is up 26.04% this morning at $1.3999. CTIC has traded 14.6 million shares so far today, 7 times its daily average. CTIC shares are climbing today after receiving conditional approval for Pixurvi from European Medicines Agency. The company has a market cap of 258.99 million.
SunPower Corporation (NASDAQ:SPWR) is up 20.99% today at $9.05. SPWR has traded 2.9 million shares this morning, nearly triple its average volume. SPWR shares jump on fourth quarter results. SunPower reported non-GAAP revenue of $749.8 million, beating guidance of $675 million to $725 million. Non-GAAP profits came in at $0.16 per share. The company has a market cap of 922.62 million.
