Insiders Trading Report for April 13

Traders at the NYSEFutures are trimming some of their losses today as the market is looking like it is heading for a slight pullback after a major rally most of the week. Earnings news out the the major banks like JPMorgan and Wells Fargo is helping the market recover. The slip in the major indices this morning was due to Chinese GDP data that showed the country was not growing as fast as expected. 8.1% vs 8.3% was the number that came in overnight.

Yesterday saw the Dow have one of its best days of the year thanks to earnings news. The Dow closed up 181, the Nasdaq 39 and the S&P added 19.

Signet Jewelers Limited (NYSE:SIG) closed Thursday up 1.23% at $47.04. SIG has traded 428 thousand shares yesterday and trades 735 thousand shares a day on average. Mark Light (US CEO) sold 41,576 shares at $46.04 on April 10.

AeroVironment, Inc. (NASDAQ:AVAV) went up 1.75% yesterday at $26.13. AVAV traded 121 thousand shares on Thursday and trades 311 thousand shares a day on average. Timothy Conver (CEO) sold 8,300 shares at $25.68 on April 11.

SolarWinds, Inc. (NYSE:SWI) rose 1.86% on Thursday at $37.82. SWI has traded 638 thousand shares on Thursday and trades 1.2 million shares a day on average. Paul Strelzick (Executive VP) sold 18,000 shares at $37.10 on April 10.

Vertex Pharmaceuticals Incorporated (NASDAQ:VRTX) went up 1.84% yesterday and closed at $37.71. VRTX traded 1.9 million shares yesterday and trades 2.8 million shares a day on average. Joshua Boger (Director) sold 4,000 shares at $37.23 on April 11.

LeapFrog Enterprises Inc. (NYSE:LF) jumped 2.44% on Thursday and finished at $8.19. LF traded 490 thousand shares yesterday and trades 809 thousand shares a day on average. Mollusk Holdings LLC (10% owner) sold 30,000 shares at $7.97 on April 11.

Opko Health, Inc. (NYSE:OPK) fell 2.19% yesterday at $4.47. OPK traded 2.1 million shares on Thursday, well above its daily average of 1.7 million shares. Phillip Frost (CEO & Chairman) bought 100,000 shares at $4.52 on April 11.

Alcoa, Inc. (NYSE:AA) rose 2.73% on Thursday at $10.17. AA traded 37.3 million shares on Thursday, well above its daily average of 25.6 million shares. Ratan Tata (Director) bought 1,830 shares at $10.24 on April 12.
