Morning Gainers for 2/8: IPSU, TLEO, FFN, THOR, AKAM, PEIX

Stocks are negative this morning as news of a Greek debt deal and positive jobs claims news did little to the market. There is even reports now that a Greek deal isn’t completely done despite reports from the media. It is being reported the IMF in particular will likely require prior actions by Greece before the rescue package is given to the nation.

The Dow is down 18 points this morning, the Nasdaq is off 3 points and the S&P 500 is down 3 points.

Imperial Sugar Company (NASDAQ:IPSU) is up 44.94% at $4.87 in early trading. IPSU has traded 2.6 million shares so far today, way above its daily average of 430 thousand shares. IPSU shares are up this morning after the company reported fiscal first quarter results. Imperial Sugar narrowed their loss and their bottom-line results beat expectations. The company has a market cap of 59.38 million.

Taleo Corporation (NASDAQ:TLEO) is up 16.96% today at $45.54. TLEO has traded 21.2 million shares this morning. The stock typically trades 678 thousand shares a day on average. TLEO shares are up this morning after Oracle agreed to buy the company for $1.9 billion. The company has a market cap of 1.89 billion.

FriendFinder Networks Inc. (NASDAQ:FFN) is up 13.76% this morning at $2.38. FFN has traded 2.2 million shares today, 5 times the stock’s daily average. Akami Technologies, Inc. (NASDAQ:AKAM) is up 11.12% today at $38.28. AKAM has traded 9.7 million shares so far this morning, double its daily volume. AKAM shares are running after positive quarterly results. Fourth quarter revenue jumped 14% to $323.7 million. Analysts were expecting revenue of $311.7. EPS was $0.45 a share, beating estimates of $0.40 a share. The company has a market cap of 6.88 billion.

Pacific Ethanol, Inc. (NASDAQ:PEIX) is up 7.95% this morning at $1.22. PEIX has traded 5.9 million shares so far today and trades 8.3 million shares a day on average. PEIX shares quickly ran to an intraday high of $1.24 this morning before coming back down some. The company has a market cap of 103.90 million.
