Morning Gainers: GNOM, MNEL, NEP, PACB, SRLS, DBD

Stocks opened higher this morning, but have since given up some of their gains. Investors were relieved to see Greece approve austerity deal in order to get another rescue package. The situation in the Middle East is heating up today after attacks against Israeli diplomats in Georgia and India. Israel is blaming Iran and Hezbollah for the attacks. The Dow is up 48 points, the Nasdaq is up 18 points and the S&P 500 is up 6 points.

Complete Genomics, Inc. (NASDAQ:GNOM) is up 46.20% this morning at $4.78. GNOM has traded 8.7 million shares so far today, well above its daily average of 676 thousand shares. GNOM shares are up big after the Mayo Clinic selected the company to provide outsourced whole genome sequencing. The company has a market cap of 152.31 million.

Mission NewEnergy Limited (NASDAQ:MNEL) is up 22.97% today at $1.6601. MNEL has traded 1.7 million shares so far today, more than 10 times its daily average. MNEL shares are up more than $0.60 over the past two trading days. The company has a market cap of 14.50 million.

China North East Petroleum Holdings (AMEX:NEP) is up 17.87% this morning at $3.11. NEP has traded 943 thousand shares so far today, well above its daily average of 128 thousand shares. NEP shares have rallied more than $1 over the past two days. NEP has about 50% over the past year due to investor skepticism of Chinese stocks after multiple fraud investigations against Chinese companies. The company has a market cap of 114.50 million.

Pacific Biosciences of California (NASDAQ:PACB) is up 10.61% today at $4.9441. PACB has traded 571 thousand shares so far today. nearly double its daily average volume. PACB announced the release of next generation chemistry and software for PacBio RS DNA sequencing system. The company has a market cap of 284.17 million.

SeraCare Life Sciences Inc. (NASDAQ:SRLS) is up 9.76% this morning at $3.93. SRLS has traded 5.7 million shares so far today, way above the stock’s daily average volume of 27 thousand shares. SRLS shares are up after Linden Capital buys the company for $81 million. The company has a market cap of 79.05 million.

Diebold, Inc. (NYSE:DBD) is up 8.55% today at $37.74. DBD has traded 876 thousand shares so far today today, double its daily average volume. DBD shares jump on better than expected fourth quarter results. Diebold earned $1.40 per share, beating estimates of $0.84. The company’s 2012 forecast was also above Wall Street estimates. The company has a market cap of 2.37 billion.
