Nasdaq Stocks Rallying as Market Trades Flat: KUTV, ZOLL, JVA, VELT, FCEL, COOL

Stocks aren’t seeing a lot of movement today after economic data from China. China’s trade balance fell $31.5 billion into the red in February, the largest deficit in at least 10 years and caused doubts about about what caused the drop, weak foreign demand or a seasonal drop. Investors will also be keeping an eye on Tuesday’s statement from the Federal Open Market Committee to gauge the direction on monetary policy. The Dow is up 15 points this morning, the Nasdaq is down about 1 point and the S&P 500 is down a half point.

Oil prices fell today which should help consumers at the pump if the prices continue to drop even further. Gold is also down and is trading below $1,700.

Ku6 Media Co., Ltd. (NASDAQ:KUTV) is up 20.48% this morning at $2.5130. KUTV has traded 844 thousand shares already today, more than twice its daily average volume. KUTV gaped at open this morning to $2.66 and quickly ran to $2.80 before falling back down. The company has a market cap of 121.98 million.

Zoll Medical Corporation (NASDAQ:ZOLL) is up 23.75% in early trading at $92.94. ZOLL has traded 3.1 million shares so far today, well above its daily average of just 254 thousand shares. ZOLL shares are up on news that Asahi Kasei Corp will buy the company for $2.21 billion. The company has a market cap of 2.06 billion.

Coffee Holding Co., Inc. (NASDAQ:JVA) is up 19.61% today at $12.68. JVA has traded 1.8 million shares so far today, about 6 times its daily average volume. JVA shares continue to rise after posing good quarterly results on Friday. Coffee Holding has jumped more than $4 a share in the past two days. The company has a market cap of 79.52 million.

Velti plc (NASDAQ:VELT) is up 12.32% today at $11.00. VELT has traded 1.1 million shares this morning, nearly 3 times its average volume. VELT shares are climbing today as profit beat expectations on mobile ad revenue. EPS for the fourth quarter came in at $0.59 per share, beating expectations by more than $0.10. The company has a market cap of 682.07 million.

FuelCell Energy, Inc. (NASDAQ:FCEL) is up 14% this morning at $1.71. FCEL has traded over 3 million shares so far today, more than double its average volume. FCEL shares are jumping today after Posco boosts stake in the company. Posco will pay $30 million for 20 million shares and also agreed to buy 120 megawatts of power plants from FuelCell. The company has a market cap of 230.17 million.

Majesco Entertainment Company (NASDAQ:COOL) is up 6.41% today at $2.99. COOL has traded 807 thousand shares this morning and trades 835 thousand shares a day on average. COOL shares are up today as investors hope the company beats earnings estimates when it released earnings this afternoon. The company has a market cap of 117.86 million.
