Marvell Technology Group Ltd. (NASDAQ:MRVL) closed the day up 4.56% at $15.12. MRVL traded 18.9 million shares today, well above its daily average of 12.9 million shares. MRVL shares rebounded today after they dropped nearly $1 a share over the previous two trading sessions. The company has a market cap of 8.82 billion.

Smith Micro Software, Inc. (NASDAQ:SMSI) closed up 15.61% today at $2.00. SMSI rose on heavy volume with 2.1 million shares traded, more than three times its daily average volume. SMSI shares are up nearly 100% since late December. The stock saw a nice pop more recently on January 9th when its mobile network director is helping Sprint optimize network experience for users. The company has a market cap of 71.53 million.

JA Solar Holdings, Co. (NASDAQ:JASO) finished up 12.83% today at $2.11. Solar companies have been on a tear lately on news of solar panel prices stabilizing and an increase in demand for them around the world. JASO traded 12 million shares today, way above its daily average of 4.4 million shares. The company has a market cap of 347.42 million.

PMC (NASDAQ:PMCS) rose 10.14% today and closed at $6.41. PMC traded 13.6 million shares, four times its daily average. PMCS shares jumped today as Relational Investors disclose 7.2% stake in the company. The company has a market cap of 1.48 billion.
