Two of the three major stock indexes ended lower today as the Federal Reserve extends its bond buying program (Operation Twist). Some investors were hoping for more aggressive methods to help boost economic growth as the debt crisis in Europe continues and the jobs market appears weaker in the U.S. Ben Bernanke did say the Fed is ready and able to do more, but offered little details on what that may be. The Dow finished the day down about 13 points, the Nasdaq up less than 1 point and the S&P 500 down 2 points.
