Stocks are down big today as investors were disappointed with no news of additional stimulus from the Fed yesterday. There was a bit of good news today though as weekly jobless claims fell 26,000 to their lowest levels in four years. It should be noted that many consider this report an outlier because of the holiday shortened week and the fact that many factories undergo a ‘retooling’ during the first week of July. The major indexes are down about 1% this morning with the Dow down nearly 100 points, the Nasdaq down 45 points and the S&P 500 down 14 points. [Read more...]
