Stocks are trading higher this morning thanks to optimism that Greece will complete its debt swap deal. Investors seemed to ignore the slightly negative jobless data today as weekly claims jumped 8,000 last week to 362,000. Economists were expecting claims to remain at 351,000. The major stock indices have given up some of their early gains, but remain positive right now. The Dow is up 40 points, the Nasdaq is up 17 points and the S&P 500 is up 7 points.
Dendreon Corporation (NASDAQ:DNDN) is down 14.90% this morning at $9.25. DNDN has traded 13.1 million shares so far today, 3 million shares more than its daily average. DNDN shares are taking a hit today after its rival Johnson & Johnson’s prostate drug beats placebo in trial. The company has a market cap of 1.35 billion. [Read more...]
