NASDAQ Stocks Rallying With Market: TRCR, BONT, TBET, AGEN, SNSS, CIEN

list of nasdaq stocksStocks are rallying today, one day after taking their biggest hit in recent months. Greece continues to be in focus, but better than expected economic data helped lift stocks today. According to the ADP National Employment Report, private employers created 216,000 jobs last month. This beat expectations of 208,000. Investors are also looking ahead to Friday’s monthly government jobs report. Many economists are expecting a gain of 210,000 in nonfarm payrolls and 225,000 jobs in the private sector.

Greece will stay in the spotlight for many investors at least until the Thursday night deadline for the country’s creditors to take the credit swap deal passes. Financials are helping lift the stock market today with Bank of America Corp. (NYSE:BAC) up more than 2% and Morgan Stanley (NYSE:MS) up more than 3%. Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) is also seeing a 1% jump today as investors and consumers eagerly await the unveiling of the iPad 3 later today.

At noon the Dow is up 74 points, the Nasdaq is up 27 points and the S&P 500 is up 8 points. [Read more...]

Stocks Fall Big on Stock Market Today: SNSS, UVXY, MWW, AEZS, KERX, BVSN

Wall StreetStocks are taking a licking today as Greek fears sends the Dow down more than 200 points. Greece is just one of many worries investors are facing right now including slower growth in China and in Europe. Even gold, which is seen as a flight to safety, is getting hit hard today. Oil prices are also dropping today and are currently around $105/barrel, down from nearly $110 last week.

There are some positive stocks in the stock market, but they are few and far between. Let’s take a quick look at some of the more active stocks today.

Sunesis Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (NASDAQ:SNSS) is up 17.65% this afternoon at $2.40. Analysts coverage was initiated today on SNSS by Canaccord Genuity and has a buy rating right now. Stocks Moving Higher Today: FONR, SYNM, LPSN, MDAS, SNSS, EGLE

Stocks continue to be lower right before midday due to a weaker than expected retail sales report. Investors also remain uneasy about the debt crisis in Europe. Retail sales rose 0.4% in January, lower than the 0.7% economists were predicting. In Europe, Moody’s cut the ratings of Italy, Portugal, Spain, Slovakia, Slovenia and Malta. The U.K., France and Austria were put on credit watch negative.

Right now the major indices are down slightly with the Dow down 22 points, the Nasdaq is down 11 points and the S&P 500 is down 4 points.

Fonar Corporation (NASDAQ:FONR) is up 27.84% today at $2.48. FONR has traded 3.1 million shares so far today, way above its daily average of 40 thousand shares so far today. FOR shares are rallying today after reporting fiscal second quarter results. Fonar saw a 33% increase in net income to $1.8 million. Total revenue increased 16% to $9.3 million.
