Lots of big name companies highlighting this week in earnings with JC Penney’s, Target and Walmart all releasing earnings during the first half of the week.

J.C. Penney Company, Inc. (NYSE:JCP) releases their third quarter results pre-market on Monday. Most analysts are expecting a net loss of $0.12 per share in the third quarter. In the same quarter last year, J.C. Penney reported a net gain of EPS $0.19. Analysts expect revenue to be around $4.06 billion, a bit less than last year’s $4.19 billion. JCP closed Friday up 3.10% at $33.92. The stock saw above average volume with 5.94 million shares traded, up from its daily average of 4.93 million shares. The company has a current market cap of 7.24 billion.

Staples, Inc. (NASDAQ:SPLS) releases their third quarter results on Tuesday. Analysts are expecting EPS of $0.47, up from last year’s EPS of $0.41. Revenue is expected to be at $6.71 billion, up from $6.54 billion in the same quarter a year ago.
