Lots of lingering concerns for a market that has just had its best quarter since the tech bubble. First up will be the jobs report which expectations have been tempered as of later. Most analysts expect a moderate increase, but below the average job creation of the past few months.

Wall StreetInvestors decided to not wait on the Fed statement, pushing the markets higher. The retail numbers bolstered the bulls, coming in line with expectations. The Dow has reclaimed 13k, up just under 110 points. Following suit, the Nasdaq has jumped above 3k, up 30 points. The S&P 500 is rounding out the rally, up nearly 12 points to 1,383.

All eyes are on the Fed today, awaiting the statement to be released at 2:30pm EST. What investors a re looking for is a sign of whether or not QE 3 is coming down the pipe. Globally the central banks have pumped somewhere in the neighborhood of $6 trillion to keep the banking sectors propped up, along with stock prices. Now the question becomes one of sustainability? Cheap Stocks Trading Higher This Afternoon: PWAV, COSI, MOTR, SNPK, TFER, BPZ

Wall StreetPowerwave Technologies, Inc. (NASDAQ:PWAV) is up 24.65% this afternoon at $1.77. PWAV has traded 1.8 million shares so far today, more than double its average volume. PWAV shares are up about $0.80 in the past week. The company has a market cap of 55.23 million.

Cosi, Inc. (NASDAQ:COSI) is up 9.31% today at $1.1150. COSI has traded 1.2 million shares this afternoon, 6 times its usual volume. COSI shares are up today on rumors of a Panera buyout of Cosi. Cosi is also announcing earnings later this month and today’s gain could be investors positioning themselves for that. The company has a market cap of 58.32 million.

Motricity, Inc. (NASDAQ:MOTR) is up 7.59% today at $1.21. MOTR is up on light volume today with 904 thousand shares traded. The stock trades 1.8 million shares a day on average. MOTR shares are up about $0.15 in the past couple of days. The company has a market cap of 55.15 million. [Read more...]

On the broader market, the Dow seems to be searching for a catalyst to continue the rally. Oil prices are definitely dampening investor spirits as we head into the weekend. While consumer sentiment numbers have been god, a spike in gas prices is almost certainly going to send those numbers crashing back down. The lack of a firm continuation of the rally has analysts worried that a correction may be in store for the broader markets.
